Revenue School provides sales training to largest cohort yet

By Evan Reed

Revenue School in the Shopify School of Commerce is hosting its largest cohort to date with thirteen sales trainees from across the United States and Canada.

Throughout the four-month training program, the new associates - who joined in June 2022 after graduating from university - have been learning sales fundamentals and gaining hands-on experience.

The associates gain skills on how to help drive customers’ business growth and focus on the value Shopify offers. Role plays also help them build confidence in dealing with customers, and workshops provide knowledge of Shopify and its products. Once the associates graduate from the program, they become eligible for full-time sales roles at Shopify.

On the road - Revenue School travels to San Francisco

By Evan Lambert

The largest cohort yet for the School of Commerce sales training program travelled to San Francisco to engage in training workshops and team-building exercises.

Members from across Canada and the United States gathered in July 2022 for this two-day session - known as a Burst - to learn, problem-solve, and forge even stronger relationships. Since Shopify is a remote and digital-by-design organization, this opportunity to meet in real life to do deep dives and brainstorm is fundamental to the company culture.

Sessions included hands-on training, role-plays, meeting with leading sales experts, and wellness workshops from an accomplished author and speaker. The team bonded through joining in city tours, enjoying culinary experiences and visiting historical sites. The San Francisco Shopify office also provided world-class service and introduced the team to a number of goods from Shopify merchants.
